Theme: India Pharma’s Digital Journey – The Progesss from Awareness to Adoption
When: Wednesday, March 1, 2023, 7 PM to 9 PM
Where: JW Marriott, Sahar Airport, Near Terminal 2
The pharmaceutical industry is in a conundrum as far as digital transformation is concerned. While on the one hand, the industry is ahead of the curve in using digital technology to create state-of-the-art operations, on the other it doesn’t feel the need to migrate this transformative approach into customer-facing functions. How can the same industry which successfully transformed upstream, be such a laggard downstream?
The joke about Covid-19 being the most successful Chief Digital Officer in the world never gets old. Pushed into adopting digital by the pandemic, the industry progressed from the awareness stage to one of adoption. Progressing from ‘digital is the future’ to ‘let’s do digital today’ took courage and a leap of faith. A leap that took the industry into a whole new world.
This world presented a new set of problems as companies realized their inadequacies. Competitors changed, as did customer preferences. Most of the industry did a great job in surfing the waves of change. They overhauled strategy, built new capabilities, executed in untested waters, and went at speed and scale through the fog of uncertainty. Digital technology powered by data promised hope.
D2 – Driven by Digital, Powered by Data is an initiative to clear some of that fog. MedicinMan and Doceree have teamed up to partner with the industry to make sense of the digital ecosystem that is fast emerging in the healthcare space. The ongoing D2 program engaged with some of the most perceptive senior executives in the industry who practice digital adoption every day.
A series of interviews and panel discussions, blog posts and articles, and one-on-one chats led to the creation of an industry-led white paper titled “Intent to Prescribe” meant to help industry colleagues measure the effectiveness of digital initiatives.
On March 1, 2023, MedicinMan and Doceree will release the paper to a small but very significant group of industry CEOs. The event will be at the JW Marriott Hotel and Sahar Airport in Mumbai.
Vikas Dandekar needs no introduction. As the Editor (Pharma and Healthcare) at ET Prime, Vikas has provided yeoman service to the sector over the last three decades. He has been the face of healthcare journalism and is very well regarded by top industry executives as a voice of reason and repute.

Both Vikas and Sumeet will share their views on the cusp of innovation that the pharmaceutical industry is poised at and how emerging technologies will shape the future of healthcare. They will also touch upon the digital thrust that the government is carrying out through the National Health Mission and the Health Stack amongst others.
This will be followed by the release of the report by Dr. Harshit Jain – Founder and CEO of Doceree and Anup Soans – Editor @ MedicinMan.
